This year's EyesOn Design Car Show took place on Sunday September 19, 2021 after 3 date changes (since June 2020) due to the Pandemic. Our line up ranged from a 1902 Dr's. Buggy to a 1964 Daytona Wagonaire. Of the 13 vehicles in the SIGNIFICANT STUDEBAKER Class, 7 of the vehicles were displayed by Western Lake Erie Chapter-SDC Members. For most of these Members it was their first time attending or showing a vehicle at this high-end car event. This vehicle class was judged by two groups of local college Automotive Design Students. Congratulations to Donna Piper for receiving a Purple Ribbon and a Student Judge Plaque for her awesome 1963 R2 Avanti, the ONLY Avanti on the show field (240 vehicles displayed this year).
At around Noon, our SDC Chapter Members (about 15 of us) gathered in the shade for our monthly WLEC Business Meeting. It was led by our President, Dave Shelbo, and was recorded (Meeting Minutes by Kathy Godlew filling in for Secretary Vida Parker ..... thanks Kathy !).
The weather was perfect. The attendees were happy. And, the vehicles on display were awesome. All together there were 22 Studebaker vehicles on the show field. We had 13 in our class, The Studebaker Nat'l Museum displayed 3 vehicles and 6 other Studebakers were shown in several other vehicle classes.
The beautiful grounds of the Edsel & Eleanor Ford Estate are a perfect property for a car show. The nearby blue waters of Lake St Clair provided a nice cooling breeze for the show field.

This is our 14th year in a row (minus 2020, of course!) taking part in the city of Birmingham, Michigan's celebration of classic cars & trucks. Our dear fellow club member, Joe Papai, guaranteed our part in this event for many many years. We missed him this year as we look back with very fond memories of him being there with us. We are sure that Joe is taking part in a big Dream Cruise in Heaven.
